Notes on the Photograph.

The photo was taken at the Fletch Pub in Coventry and appeared on the cover of the Armpit Jug Band's first album "No Sweat" in 1972. It was recorded one weekend at a small freezing hut/recording studio on an airfield somewhere in Warwickshire.
The late Monty Bird was the engineer and John Golding was the producer.
The line up on the photo:
Stringbean Cumming (seated left), Hot Lips Haines, Jazz Beasley, Gilbert Lawrence, T-Bone Axeman Jones (seated right).
The Fletch was one of our early venues. It was an excellent folk club and was run by Dave Sampson.A regular member of the audience in those early days was Rowan Atkinson. Dave is still running the Wurzel Bush club in Brinklow and we are still invited to play there. Rowan Atkinson has disappeared.
